Stroll down to the uncrowded beach where you can swim, surf or just take time to enjoy the golden sand. For the more energetic, walk up Mauao (The Mount) for wonderful 360 degree views; across the Bay, down to Maketu (as shown above), and up to Coromandel Peninsula.

Oceanbeach Retreat Bed & Breakfast is on the beachfront side of Oceanbeach Road just 5 kms from downtown Mt Maunganui where you can enjoy wonderful boutique shopping and a thriving café and restaurant scene. Mt Maunganui is renowned for its white sand and surf and a safe sheltered inner harbour beach.

Our home is quieter and more peaceful than the bustle of the tourist centre; so when you have enjoyed what The Mount has to offer, you can come back and relax in peace in an area of the home in which you are almost entirely self contained and private.

Across the road is a golf course. The club house is within a few minutes drive. A second golf course is within 5 minutes drive.

Bayfair Shopping Centre with over 90 of the Bay's best retail stores, is less than 3 kms from our home.

Tauranga Airport is 5 minutes by car, and Tauranga CBD is less than 8 kms.

Rotorua and Taupo are an easy day trip, and the Coromandel Peninsula is a couple of hours up the road.
